Szczecin si appresta ad aprire il sipario della massima competizione europea. Nella città Polacca, infatti, il 4 e 5 aprile si svolgeranno le Final Four di Champions League donne, con Busto Arsizio unica portacolori d’Italia ma con tre allenatori italiani sulle panchine delle altre squadre prendenti parte alle semifinali. Tra questi vi è coach Giuseppe Cuccarini, che guiderà la squadra polacca del Chemik Polce nella due giorni europea.

1. Sensazioni in vista dell’inizio delle final four di Champions League
C’è molta eccitazione e la volontà di fare tutto al meglio delle proprie possibilità.
2. Quali armi dovrete sfoderare per avere la meglio sull’avversaria che affronterete in semifinale?
Giocare al meglio la nostra pallavolo; non credo che ci sia un aspetto del gioco più importante degli altri, ognuno di loro sarà determinante.
3. Cosa temete di più della vostra prossima avversaria ? E cosa LEI dovrà temere di voi?
Di Busto Arsizio rispetto la grande capacità di saper essere sempre molto efficace nei momenti importanti e le qualità delle giocatrici e del gioco di assieme.
Se temono qualcosa di noi deve chiederlo a Parisi.
4. La giocatrice che potrebbe fare la differenza in queste final four?
Per quello che riguarda la mia squadra, sarà importante che ogni giocatrice sfrutti al meglio le proprie peculiarità ma, essendo la pallavolo un gioco di squadra, sarà la qualità del gioco d’assieme a fare la differenza.
5. Un aggettivo per descrivere gli allenatori delle altre squadre presenti alle final four.
Gli stessi per tutti e tre: competenza, esperienza e determinazione.
6. Per un avvenimento di grande importanza ci si aspetta un pubblico “importante” dal punto di vista numerico e del tifo. Cosa si aspetta dal pubblico presente a Szczecin?
Quello che ha già dimostrato nelle partite del primo girone: passione, competenza e supporto.

There is much excitement and the will to do all in the best way possibile.
2. Which are your strengths for the semifinal?
We have to play our best volleyball. I don’t think there is an aspect of the game more important than others, each of them will be crucial.
3. What about Unendo YamamaY Busto Arsizio?
I respect the great ability to always be very effective in the important moments, quality of the players and their way of play as a team.
4. Which player could make the difference?
About my team, every player have to use its peculiarity, but will be the team to make the difference
5. An adjective to describe the coaches of the other teams.
The same for all three: competence, experience and determination.
6.What do you expect from the fans in Szczecin?
What they showed in the matches of the first round: passion, expertise and support.

The USC women’s volleyball team earned a 3-0 sweep (25-21, 25-22, 27-25) of Northern Iowa to win the 2014 Commonwealth Classic at Memorial Coliseum on Saturday, Sept. 6.
The results of previous matches (Sept. 5):
USC – Creighton 3-1 (22-25, 25-18, 25-15, 25-18)
USC – Kentucky 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-19)
Alice Pizzasegola, the setter of the team, about the tournament: “The tournament has been good for us, our game has improved compared to the previous one and we are having more confidence. We won 3-0 against Kentucky (a game not easy because we were playing at their home) showing a good volleyball. We are on the right way, we are working hard during practice trying to absorb as much as possible the new game’s system. The group is fantastic, our spirit in the gym will help us to face the following matches with enthusiasm and desire to win. This weekend we host a new tournament at the Galen Center and it will be a good opportunity to test us with good teams”.

Il commento della piacentina Alice Pizzasegola, regista della squadra, in Los Angeles con una borsa di studio: “Il torneo è andato bene, il nostro gioco è migliorato rispetto al torneo precedente e stiamo pian piano acquistando – more confidence -. Abbiamo vinto 3-0 contro Kentycky, una partita non facile perchè giocavamo in casa loro, mostrando una bella pallavolo. Siamo sulla strada giusta, stiamo lavorando duro in allenamento cercando di assimilare il più possibile il nuovo sistema di gioco. Lo spirito di gruppo che si è creato in palestra ci aiuterà ad affrontare le partite successive con entusiasmo e voglia di vincere. Questo week end ospitiamo al Galen Center un nuovo torneo e sarà una buona occasione per metterci alla prova affrontando squadre di ottimo livello”..
Alice Piazzasegola, piacentina, alzatrice della USC (Università Sud California) affronterà con la squadra il secondo torneo stagionale, il “Commonwealth Classic): stanotte alle 01 italiane contro Kentucky, che ospita la manifestazione, domani 6 settembre alle 17.30 italiane contro Creighton ed alle 23.30 contro Northern Iowa .
LOS ANGELES – The sixth-ranked USC women’s volleyball team (3-0) will get tested this weekend as the Women of Troy head to Lexington, Ky., for the Commonwealth Classic (Sept. 5-6) hosted by University of Kentucky. The Trojans will face 16th-ranked host Kentucky (3-0) in their first match (Sept. 5), and then take on Creighton (2-1) and Northern Iowa (2-1) in matches on Sept. 6.
USC will have played six straight matches away from home to open the season but is familiar with the territory. The Trojans went 6-0 on the road to start 2013.
The Women of Troy will play in the state of Kentucky for just the third time in program history when they take on the Wildcats. USC’s only other matches in the Bluegrass State took place during the 2004 NCAA tournament when Louisville, Ky., hosted one of the regional championships. That year, the Trojans defeated San Diego and Nebraska en route to an appearance in the NCAA’s final four.
USC has faced teams from the state of Kentucky just twice. The Trojans beat Northern Kentucky, 15-3, 15-5, on Dec. 8, 1978, at the AIAW Championships in Tuscaloosa, Ala. In its only other match against a foe from the state, USC defeated Kentucky, 3-0 (15-9, 15-10, 15-4), in the Long Beach State Tournament on Nov. 29, 1996.

La “USC women’s volleyball team” ( University of Southern California) vince il primo torneo della nuova stagione, il Community Bankers Volleyball Classic. Nella squadra milita Alice Pizzasegola, classe 1994, alzatrice piacentina, approdata nella prestigiosa università grazie ad una borsa di studio.
Il commento di Alice a fine torneo: “Siamo una squadra molto giovane con un nuovo schema di gioco.. Abbiamo lavorato veramente duro durante la preparazione siamo ancora nel “learning process”.. Abbiamo tanto talento e qualità, dobbiamo solo trovare il nostro equilibrio e il nostro gioco. Durante queste prime partite si sono viste cose molto positive, dobbiamo partire da li e continuare a lavorare. Siamo un bellissimo gruppo molto unito e questo aiuta sicuramente. Le freshman hanno fatto molto bene, si sono inserite appieno nel gruppo”.

The USC Women’s Volleyball Team won the Community Bankers Volleyball Classic, the first tournament of new season. Alice Pizzasegola, the italian setter of the team, after the three days of matches: “We are a very young team with a new game plan. We worked really hard during the preparation, we are still in the “learning process”. We have so much talent and quality, we have to find our balance and our game. During these first games we showed many positive things, we must start from this point and continue to work. We are a great group, united, and this thing helps a lot. The freshman did very well, they are fully integrated in the group”.
