Special tents arranged outside the competition halls feature rich and various international entertainment activities. Ã…Âódź, Katowice, WrocÅ‚aw and Bydgoszcz hosted such performers as the Babsztyl band, the Ukrainian-Polish band Riverboat Ramblers, The Medley, Janusz Nastarowicz, the Party Tour, Mariusz Kalaga, the Ukrainian ensemble Cheremshyna, the Belgian band Bluetrain, and Krystyna Mazur – a Pole living in Ukraine, who clinched the first prize for young performers at this year’s MrÄ…gowo Country Picnic. Their performances were very well received by the local fans that enjoyed the time spent in such areas as a kind of break from the great emotions descending from the volleyball competition.
Fans could also follow the matches of the European Championships on giant screens displaying not simply the games staged in the local competition hall but also those played in the remaining venues. The matches of the Polish team generated a great interest in Katowice, WrocÅ‚aw and Bydgoszcz. Thus the local heroines could count not only on the cheers of the dedicated fans in Ã…Âódź, but also on the ‘corresponding’ support of the fan-zones arranged in the other host cities.
Every day the Fan-zones have been attracting a few thousand of visitors, who, apart from such sportive emotions, could also taste the best of both Polish and international cuisine.
After the first day of rest, the fan-zones will re-open in Ã…Âódź and Katowice; entrance is free, so all volleyball fans and not are warmly invited to join that captivating experience!

Lodz, Poland, September 28, 2009. Apart from the sports emotions related to the 2009 CEV Orlen European Championships in all of the host cities fans and non-fans enjoyed a number of side attractions and events organized in the so-called Euro Volley Party Fan-zones. Numerous prize competitions attracted much interest among the people gathering to the halls to watch the very best European volleyball players in action. Interestingly, it turned out that many fans know a lot about volleyball and about the special events arranged for the European Championships.
