Igor Kolakovic (Serbia): “Siamo lieti di aver raggiunto la semifinale, nostro primo obiettivo. Ma non ci accontentiamo, vogliamo andare tutti insieme per la finale, è l’ottava volta che giochiamo contro Cuba, sarà una gara difficile, vogliamo andare avanti”.

Bernardo Rezende (Brasile) “È un grande onore condividere con queste squadre il primato, tutte giocano una pallavolo di alto livello, speriamo di giocare bene per qualificarsi per la finale. Tutte le gare conto l’Italia sono difficili a partire dalle prime sfide come allenatore, ricordo la prima finale giocata in World League in Polonia, ma anche la finale olimpica nel 2004, i quarti di finale nel Mondiale del 2002 quando, avanti 2-0, siamo stati rimontati e vinto solamente al quinto set (15-13). Gli azzurri sono molto saggi a giocare nelle partite importanti, sappiamo di incontrare molte difficoltà, l’Italia è una squadra esperta”.

Andrea Anastasi: (Italia) “Sono estremamente soddisfatto di essere ancora a Roma e dopo 10 giorni di battaglia siamo rimasti in quattro per contendersi il titolo, il Brasile sicuramente è la squadra da battere, la più vincente, noi faremo di tutto per fare una grande gara”.

Samuel Blackwood Orlando (Cuba): “È un grande onore essere qui, il livello è molto alto, la mia è una squadra giovane, voglio riuscire stabilizzare il livello tecnico della squadra e arrivare più alto possibile”.

Igor Kolakovic, (Serbia)-  “Our first goal was to reach the semi-finals, and we are  quite satisfied with this result.  Now we have to face Cuba which  is a young team, and which we have played  8 times, but this will be a complicated match”.

Bernardo  Rezende, (Brazil)  “It is an honor to be here , and we will have to face some tough teams to reach the final. Italy is a strong team  and will have the incredible support of its fans. It will be a high level match and whoever wins will access the final. I don’t see a favorite for the final victory. The difficult matches with Brazil were in the Olympic Final in 2004, and the World Championship quarter finals in 2004”.

Andrea Anastasi, (Italy)  “I am satisfied to be here after ten days of grueling battles on the court. The four teams have the same objective: play the final on Sunday October 10. Brazil is the team to beat, and we will do our best to achieve this”.

Samuel Blackwood Orlando (Cuba)- “Like my colleagues I must also say that it is a great honor to be here in Rome with these other three teams. I will be a difficult task to defeat Brazil, but we are a young team , and this semi-final will be an incredible opportunity to stabilize the technical level of the team”.
