Polish league – summary of 10-11th leg

10th leg
The match between Budowlani £ódŸ ans AZS Bia³ystok ended with a surprise. Before this meeting both teams had 12 points in their account in the league table, but this time the team from £ódŸ seemed to be favourite to win, and that was for two reason:1. in the first phase of league players from £ódŸ definitely defeated AZS 3:02. a week earlier (in the 9th leg) £ódŸ defeated one of the favorites for the championship, a team of Atom Trefl Sopot. Therefore, noone expected such an easy win of the team from Bialystok. Coach Popik (£ódŸ) often made substitutions, seeking the optimal line-up so the match began with Bryda, Teixeira, Shelukhina, Mirek, Echenique and De Paula in the first ‘six’ and for the third set Kosek, Teixeira, Szymañska, Shelukhina, Wojcieska, ZaroÅ“liñska were nominated. Throughout the match Zarosiñska who came on the court after the first technical time out in set two, scored the most points (16).

There were no surprises in the match between Centrostal Bydgoszcz and Atom Trefl Sopot. Team of coach Chiappini convincingly won in three sets. Bydgoszcz team did not use the chance to win even one set and leading in the second part, 21:18, failed to score any points, losing in this way, 21:25. Sopot started the first two sets with Fateeva in, is the third part Meryem Boz came on the court in the first ‘6 ‘. MVP of the game: Neriman Ozsoy.

Even less work had players of Aluprof Bielsko-Bia³a in a match against league beginner, the team of Rumia. Players from Bielsko Biala played very well in the block thus earning 15 points while their opponents just 2. Okuniewska was chosen MVP, whose effectiveness in attack was 71%.

Definitely more excitement was in the game between Gwardia Wroc³aw – Tauron D¹browa Górnicza. Gwardia was close to winning this match by three points, but players from Dabrowa Gornicza have led to a tie and tie-break decided about the result of the match. Jaszewska from Wroclaw was chosen the player of the match, while in the team from Dabrowa Ma³gorzata Lis deserves credit, who won 16 points in the match, including half from the block.

The match between the league leader, Muszynianka Muszyna and Stal Mielec has been rescheduled for 16 March. Last week a new player joined the team from Mielec, and that is the 21-year-old attacker, Polina Liutikova. The Ukrainian recently played in Romanian Tomis Constanta team, where she moved from Osmo BPVi Vicenza.

Polish league – summary of 11 th leg

Last week was very happy for the Muszynianka team. After a promotion to the next round of Champions League a clear victory over Aluprof came. Bogdan Serwinski did not hide the joy of winning, but also noted the clear tiredness of both teams, which was evident at this match. He also talked about problems that his team may face shortly. – I am glad that we won the second match against Bielsko. This is a very important points for the league’s table, because when we will play a decisive match against Rabita Baku, we will have to save main players. We play on Thursday with the Rabita, on Sunday with Dabrowa, and then immediately we go to Baku. There is no way to put the games off. On the other hand, players coming into the game from the bench, show a very well and surprise. Kinga played great games in Villa Cortese, and today Klaudia Kaczorwska just presented herself similarly – the coach explains. In Aluprof a great match was played by Natalia Bamber, but she could not count on help from colleagues from the team.

Organika Lodz defeated Impel Wroc³aw 3:2. The situation on the court has changed in each set. In the tie break the hosts took a lead 7:2. This loss the team from Wroclaw were no longer able to work out. For Organika, which is not fare this season (this time for health reasons Joanna Mirek could not play), two points scored in this match is very important. This match was the last one for coach Wieslaw Popik. The new coach of team from Lodz will be probablly Malgorzata Niemczyk (ex-player of this team, gold medalist of European Championships 2003 with Polish NT)

– This match did not work out us, and the statistics show that – coach Czaja explained at the conference after lost match against Centrostal Bydgoszcz. – Regarding the effectiveness of the attack or the receive, these values are comparable, but the amount of own mistakes is much too large. It was difficult to count on a miracle that makeing so many mistakes we could win the meeting.

Piotr Makowski (Bydgoszcz): Given the situation in the standing, this victory is really very valuable and has, one might say, double strength. I am happy that, because this week in general Charlotte Leys did not train with us and Monika Naczk joined the team two days before the match. Despite the problems, both players showed  good play. We were a little afraid of that match. The team from Bialystok already during our first confrontation had shown they had been strong and still bears this out. I liked Malgorzata Wlaszczuk’s play, who is not impressive in terms of physical conditions, but attacked with 47-percent efficiency, which is noteworthy. What worries me was the second set, in which we were already leading 21:19, and since then we did not score a single point. Such situations definitely should not happen to us.

Who expected an exciting match between Dabrowa Gornicza and Stal Mielec, was very disappointed. Not for a moment Stal did not undermine Dabrowa. Attack of the team was at 29 percent. Besides effective attacks Izabela Zebrowska presented a good serve, defense and block and was chosen the player of the match.

Atom Trefl Sopot had no problems to beat the rival noted below. After the game coach Chiappini said: Today, players actually carried out the tactical assumptions, block, the serve and defense functioned very well. Girls played better in receive and attack which makes me happy. We worked on this and I see progress. I’m happy with the attitude of all players, especially those that so far have had less opportunity to play. Chiappini was satisfied with decision to put Izabela Sliwa and Eleonora Dziekiewicz in the main “six” – They have well proven that what they do in training, translates into a matches and deserve to get the opportunity to play.
