Lorenzo Micelli and Giovanni Guidetti share their feelings as they prepare for a Turkish derby in the Playoffs 6

Istanbul, Turkey, February 16, 2011. Turkey is getting ready to celebrate what might be considered a memorable moment for the history and development of Volleyball in this country. Next March 19-20 FenerbahceAcibadem ISTANBUL will host the final four of the 2011 CEV Champions League in the splendid scenario of the recently opened “Burhan Felek” Volleyball Hall and another Turkish club, i.e. Eczacibasi VitrA or VakifGunesTTelekom, stemming from a derby in the Playoffs 6 will join the last stage of Europe’s most elitist competition.
FenerbahceAcibadem, as per the official regulations, will play the second Turkish team in the semis. However, the Turkish derby in the Playoffs 6 will enjoy some additional flavor as two Italian coaches are currently mentoring these sides, namely Lorenzo Micelli (Eczacibasi) and Giovanni Guidetti (VakifGunes). They recently had a common interview with Haber Türk to reveal their opinions and feelings.

We realized that both teams compete with all of their 12 players being lined-up on the court. Your way of coaching is similar. Is it because you are both from Italy?
Guidetti: A coach should be able to use all of his players at the right moment during the game and this is what you call a team play. This not because of being Italian but this is a necessity to compete at the highest level.
Micelli: You may stop a team which has a strategy mainly based on one or two players. You have to play with all members of the team to win at this level.
